WE ARE CREATING THE WELL NOW!

Ladies and gentlemen

I am very happy to inform you that we already have the necessary amount for the project!
Thanks to the commitment and generosity of many wonderful people, I am flying to Tanzania on Sunday to implement the project “Clean Water for Logoyeti”.
As I wrote in previous articles, the well drilled at Logoyeti is of particular importance to the entire community living there. It will not only satisfy the residents’ need for clean water, but will also contribute to agreement between the multi-tribe environment of the people living there.

Let me remind you that a few years ago there was an armed conflict between the Maasai and farmers, among others access to water. Several hundred people died as a result of the conflict. Father Marek Gizicki is trying hard to reconcile all these people. He initiated the construction of this well for all the people living there so that there would never be a conflict over water.
I have great hope, faith and conviction that the project will be successful and will be the seed of another project to create a medical facility in this doomed region of the world where so many people suffer from lack of hygiene and clean water. Doomed to be forgotten before you started helping, but that’s what we’re changing together!
Remember that all this is happening only thanks to your commitment, regardless of whether it is reading this article and telling someone about it, sharing a link or a photo on Instagram or Facebook. Each of your activities, even the smallest ones, leads to great achievements. The Foundation is made up of EVERYONE who has devoted a moment to getting to know its mission better.

With gratitude

New Year soon!

We're going with Fr. Mark see the current water source of the people of Logoyetia
Women carry water a few kilometers to their farms by foot.
Could you drink this?

Holidays, holidays and it’s over! And in a moment, the New Year!
And we are getting closer to the goal, which is to raise funds for the “Water for Logoyeti” project.
We managed to collect PLN 7,000 (about two thousand dollars) and receive a donation in kind in the form of a submersible pump sponsored by GRUNDFOS. In early January, the pump will go to Tanzania, where it will be supervised by Fr. Marek until the money for drilling is collected.
So far we have money for a 30 meter well. Only 110 meters left to finish!
We whole heartedly thank everyone who contributes to this useful project that will give about 3,000 people access to clean water.
Taking this opportunity, the Foundation Team wishes everyone a Happy New Year!

Charity donations

Dear Fans and Guests!

More than two weeks have passed since my return from Tanzania. I visited the villages where the foundation projects will be implemented (Antakae, Logoyeti, Oltotoi, Kiteto Province, Manyara County). I got to know the inhabitants of these villages and saw huge areas dominated by drought, and in the rainy season plagued by more frequent floods, caused by climate change and the massive cutting of trees and shrubs for cultivation.

For the reasons stated above, 50% of Tanzanian inhabitants suffer from a lack of drinking water. There is a lack of wells, storage reservoirs, not to mention waterworks, which are a luxury that hardly anyone can afford.

That is why I decided to act to change this depressing reality of the people of Tanzania and raise funds to build a well. As you can read on our website or in the reports on Facebook and Instagram, the beginning has already been made. The research is complete and the site of the well has been agreed and approved.

The Foundation offers charity donations and fridge magnets with the image of a girl living in the village where the well will be built.

All donations will be donated to the construction of the Logoyeti well. You can read about the project in the “Projects” tab – “Water for Logoyeti”

In order to purchase a brick or a magnet, please contact us at 606717929 or write an e-mail to the following address: africahelp2019@gmail.com

Yours faithfully

We start in Tanzania

We have launched a development project for the villages of Rogoyeti, Oltotoi Misheni, Oltepes, Kiteto district, Manyara region – in Tanzania.

The water and sanitary infrastructure construction project in Tanzania involves the following stages:

  • Hydrological surveys in the dry season (first half of November 2020) – the basic steps to be taken are to find a company in Tanzania to carry out such surveys. Fortunately, there is Father Marek, living in the heart of the bush, who has worked for the local population, the Maasai people, for many years. The government’s policy, in fact, its shortcomings and its failure to pay attention to the fate of the inhabitants of the poorest areas, are making the situation of the Maasai and other inhabitants of the region even worse. They lack support mainly because they do not want to give up their cultural differences, e.g. they do not want to give up livestock farming and switch to agriculture which is currently promoted by the Tanzanian government. The development of agriculture has led to trees being cut down in favour of arable land, thereby draining the land and reducing the natural ‘storage’ of water by vegetation. As a result, the lack of clean drinking water has become an even greater problem, although it has always been there. Father Marek, together with us, wants to help the Maasai to survive in these difficult conditions. We also want to prevent the fighting for water as has happened in other parts of Africa with the similar situation – the interests of farmers were at odds with those of nomadic peoples.
  • The next step will be to select and hire the company that will carry out the drilling works. In view of the specific nature of the region and our fears of dishonest contractors, we want to use local companies from the region that have already cooperated with missions and other NGOs from Europe.
  • The next third step is to create a water intake. In this way, it will be possible to supply the villages with water. In the Maasai community, women play the role of home carers. They are also responsible for providing water to the household. In order for every inhabitant of the village to take care of the common good, we want women to look after our wells. They will ensure that the well is not destroyed. They will be protected by all the villagers who care about supplying water to each family, so that there are no conflicts. This problem is one of the biggest ones occurring there, as treated water is expensive and scarce virtually everywhere.
  • A further stage in the development of villages in this district will be the creation of a medical and sanitary facilities where everyone will be able to come for the first aid.

Our Benefactors!

Please make donations via the siepomaga.pl platform, faniMani. and directly via przelewy 24 (transfers 24) or to the Foundation’s account given on our website.

We are starting the project now – the first trip to work in Tanzania in November! Without your support, actions will be very difficult and slow, and sometimes futile. Interrupting the construction process half-way, not completing the work will lead to its destruction and the necessity to start a new one. If the residents see the effects they will gain hope and will be more willing to support us in our next activities. But these should be visible, tangible and working effects. Join us and let us change the lives of these people so that they can live with dignity there. If you are willing to act and help in a way other than a donation, please contact us. This is also important to us. We have ideas but we need action and putting them into practice. Let us do it together!

Pre-drilling test

Dear Benefactors and Supporters

We are undertaking even more activities to fundraise and source aid for the well construction project in Tanzania. We have a cost estimate for hydrological survey and drilling for water. We operate together with Fr. Marek who, while serving the local people, knows their needs and the area. We chose a place to perform control drilling. It is a village that the inhabitants named Rogoyeti. It is located in the Kikomi District. If you are interested, you can see it, for example, in Google Maps (5 ° 49’19.4 ″ S 36 ° 40’20.2 ″ E;

https://maps.app.goo.gl/TfgLAmK1CLj2FWMc7).

Father Marek and his parishioners, the Maasai, have reviewed the Tanzanian entrepreneurs who are involved in water exploration and well construction. He chose one of the companies that has existed for so long and has experience that gives you the greatest chance for success. They use the latest (as for those conditions) methods of searching for water and installing devices for its extraction.

The initial valuation of the survey and drilling is USD 7,000.00. The first phase of the project, the drilling borehole, should be completed in November 2020. During this period, there are the best weather conditions for surveying. It is the dry season, the lowest water level is known, and based on this data, it is possible to assess the chances for finding a good source.

That is why we make a strong appeal for help and donations for the construction of the well. Part of the Kikomi district, which includes several villages that will be supplied with this water, is counting on us.

We would like to remind you that, at the moment, the water supply of those people comes from the muddy puddle and water needs to be carried by women and children a few kilometres a day to their villages, with this water being very little.  It is taken straight from the ground, uncleaned.  Unfortunately, it is also the cause of many infectious diseases and, as a result, a very high mortality rate from diseases such as typhoid and cholera, which are no longer present in Europe. These people, however, have no choice. They have no other options. Everyone must drink.

We wholeheartedly ask you for your support !!!

If you want to learn more, write to us, call us or come to the Foundation. Despite the pandemic situation that is difficult for this type of activity, we are still working. We meet with potential donors. We raise government funds to keep our operations running. We send out requests for support. We participate in meetings with creative people full of positive ideas from various backgrounds, thanks to which our knowledge and skills needed to implement our mission are expanded. We are happy to listen to advice from engineers who know how to extract water. We also provide legal advice which allows us to repay some for their services to Africa Help.
