Volunteer Regulations
"AFRICA HELP" Foundation

  1.                                                                                      Chapter I „General Provisions”

§1. The volunteer program is conducted by the „AFRICA HELP” Foundation, registered in the National Court Register under number 0000669457, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation.

§2. The volunteer work is carried out on the terms defined in:

  1. the Act of April 24, 2003, on Public Benefit Activity and Volunteering (Journal of Laws 2023, item 571, consolidated text),

  2. the Foundation’s statute,

  3. the volunteer regulations,

  4. the agreement concluded with the volunteer.

§3. The volunteer program, like the Foundation, is politically independent.

§4. Volunteering is a voluntary and uncoerced, conscious activity for the benefit of the Foundation, in accordance with its statutory goals.

§5. A person may become a volunteer if they:

  • are of legal age or have reached the age of 15 and have written consent from their legal guardian to participate in the volunteer program,
  • have expressed the desire to participate in the volunteer program by completing the volunteer questionnaire and have obtained a positive opinion from the Foundation’s President or a two-person recruitment team,
  • sign a declaration of participation (for action-based volunteering) or enter into an agreement with the Foundation (for national and missionary volunteering),
  • have no medical contraindications to participate in volunteering (for missionary volunteering),
  • have obtained a positive result from the training (for missionary volunteering).

§6. The volunteer is not entitled to any remuneration for the work performed.

§7. The Foundation does not collect membership fees from volunteers for their participation in the volunteer program.

§8. Volunteering is carried out within the territory of the Republic of Poland (for action-based and national volunteering) and outside its borders (for missionary volunteering).

§9. The work of the volunteers is managed and supervised by the Foundation’s volunteer coordinator, and in cases where this is not possible, the tasks of the volunteer coordinator are carried out by the Foundation’s President.

Chapter II „Duties of the Volunteer”

§10.Duties of the Volunteer:

  1. performing the tasks assigned to them in accordance with the Foundation’s statutory goals,
  2. actively participating in the Foundation’s activities,
  3. maintaining contact with the volunteer coordinator and promptly informing them about the inability to perform the assigned tasks,
  4. keeping confidential any information obtained during the volunteer program,
  5. ensuring their own safety and the safety of others while performing volunteer tasks,
  6. taking care of the Foundation’s entrusted property,
  7. adhering to the rules and established standards of conduct within the Foundation,
  8. completing assigned tasks on time,
  9. reporting observed irregularities or risks to the volunteer coordinator,
  10. participating in volunteer meetings,
  11. representing the Foundation with dignity through their behavior,
  12. submitting reports on the tasks completed and, whenever possible, documenting them photographically,
  13. informing the volunteer coordinator in writing about their resignation from the volunteer program. 

                                                                                                            Chapter III „Rights of the Volunteer”

§11. The volunteer has the right to receive accurate information about their rights and obligations, as well as about the risks associated with the volunteer activities and the rules for protection against those risks.

§12. The volunteer has the right to receive a certificate of completed volunteer work, provided they have participated in it for more than 3 months and have been systematically and actively involved in volunteer meetings and Foundation activities.

§13. The volunteer participating in national and missionary volunteer work has the right to enter into a volunteer agreement with the Foundation.

§14. The volunteer will be promoted by the Foundation through the publication of their photograph, name, and surname (with the volunteer’s consent) on the organization’s website.

§15. Every volunteer has the right to receive assistance within the framework of the actions and projects they are involved in.

§16. A volunteer who has raised funds for one of the projects in Africa is entitled to 10% of the raised amount, but only for the purpose of funding the travel to the project location (costs of purchasing an airline ticket, visa, local fees, accommodation, meals).

§17. The volunteer may take responsibility for a selected Foundation project by organizing and promoting it under the supervision and collaboration of the volunteer coordinator.

§18. A volunteer wishing to organize an action for one of the Foundation’s projects must submit the project in writing to obtain the volunteer coordinator’s opinion. The volunteer has no right to organize any cash collections without obtaining the volunteer coordinator’s approval.

 

§19. The volunteer may go on a mission to Africa, provided they have been active in the Foundation in the country for at least 6 months. Any exceptions to this rule must be discussed and approved by the statutory authorities of the Foundation.

                                                                                             Chapter IV „Termination/Expiry of Volunteering”

§20. The volunteering agreement may be terminated/expire:

  • based on a mutual statement by the volunteer and the Foundation,
  • after the expiration of the period for which the volunteering agreement was made,
  • after the completion of the project for which the declaration was made (voluntary action).

                                                                                              Chapter V „Final Provisions”

§21. In the case of a gross violation of the regulations by the volunteer, the volunteer coordinator or the Foundation’s Board has the right to terminate the cooperation with the volunteer with immediate effect.

§22. The Foundation does not cover the costs of travel, accommodation, or meals for volunteers participating in volunteer meetings.

§23. Unethical behavior of a volunteer may result in their removal from the volunteer program.

§24. Any matters not covered in this regulation will be resolved by the decision of the Foundation’s Board.

 

§25. The decision of the Foundation’s Board is final.
